Project 2019: Excursion Metabolon

Excursion to „Metabolon“

For our 2019 Geo-Circle project we chose the Metabolon as the host for our opening event.

The Metabolo is a former waste deposit and is now one of the most modern waste deposal locations in Europe. It has become a research and innovation center for environmental technology and is an ideal example for an „out-of-school learning place“. The Metabolon is devided into 4 core areas: Out-of-school learning place, sustainable industrial park, place for free time- and recreational activities and competence center for environmental studies and renewable energies.

After a short guided tour through the waste deposit and an explanation of its functions, we gathered in the learning room and learned a lot about waste seperation and recycling.
