Primary education Waste & circular economy

Inspired by the Geo Circle project IVN connected another project about waste with education about circular economy for primary schools. In school year 2019-2020 this project was carried out at 12 schools in the province of Drenthe (Netherlands). Each coming year 10-20 primary schools will do this project; eventually reaching up to 10.000 children. For 250 children their project ended with a festive and inspiring event in Hoogeveen - see video.

Teacher trainings

For each project IVN organizes a teacher training to familiarize all teachers with the content of the project. There is an introduction available; project materials are displayed and explained.

Children from 4 – 12 years of age visit the primary schools in the Netherlands; these 8 groups are split in three levels: lower, middle and upper level. For each level IVN adjusts the project content and project materials.

In most projects IVN delivers all materials to the school at the start of the project. Five or six weeks later the materials are collected again. They are cleaned, repaired when necessary and made ready for the next round of schools.
